I’m planning on being in Atlanta at the Hyatt Regency late July for a conference. Any drives worth taking within an hour or so of the city?

1 hour? Have fun being stuck in traffic! Something fun to do within 20-30 minutes of downtown? Pay $15 to park at Stone Mountain and hike to the top. It’ll be hot, but the hike isn’t bad and the views are amazing. It’s like a piece of Yosemite popping up 800' straight up out of the ground. We just went last weekend (3rd trip) and it’s always pretty cool — probably my favorite ATL daytrip destination. Protip: Park at the Walkup Trail, not the main tourist area.

There are a few short fun drives, but nothing too exciting within an hour of the city. Like Ash said, Stone Mountain is pretty cool. The World of Coke is also worth checking out if you have the time and like carbonated drinks. There’s not a ton to do there, but it’s fun to watch the old commercials and sample everything in the tasting room.

Not free, but you can do the Porsche Experience center. There are promo codes out there for discounts.
Or just show up pretending to buy something, and check out the mini museum.

Cool. Did you find a code? If not I can search for mine.
Edit: Found it...looks like a general code, but may only be for the 911. 10%
